Quality Inspector

Production Indirect

Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring finished product quality before it leaves the production area. Pay close attention to details and scrutinize assemblies to identify possible rework opportunities.

Qualifications

Familiarity with MS - Office Suite, printers, scanners, cordless phones
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal
Able to maintain accurate and detailed records, completes assignments and instructions in a reliable, trustworthy, and timely manner
Able to make sound decisions based upon known variables
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
General knowledge of manufacturing
Must be able to work and perform job requirements without close supervision
Must be able to prioritize and organize workload to meet workload demands and keep up with assembly line in all departments/areas
Must keep work area clean, neat, and orderly
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, AND, IF REQUESTED, background and references check
Previous experience or knowledge of lean/manufacturing concepts is a plus
Must display excellent attendance, comes to work on time and does not use excessive leave or abuse PTO / attendance policies
PROACTIVE AND RESULTS-ORIENTED

Duties & Responsibilities

Inspect completed units at the end of the production line to ensure conformance to customer expectations
Inspect job packet information to ensure completion and accuracy of information reported
Compile production records for each unit as it comes off the production line
Wrap completed units & stock final assembly kits as needed
Willing to learn new tasks and make suggestions for improvements of current tasks as well as proposing ideas for new inspections
Create NMR's on all items found at inspection
Create electronic job record packets
Thinks logically and practically before making decisions. Uses independent thought, originality and reasoning. Works cross functionally to prioritize work and timely implementation of workable solutions to problems. Maintains confidential information.
Follows through on assignments despite setbacks
Produces thorough, accurate, neat, and acceptable work. Works under pressure. Learns from previous mistakes and shares lessons learned with others.
Other duties as assigned, help in other departments/areas to keep up and help with workload demands.
Must maintain daily "Start Up & Shut Down" Check-Off Logs
