Technical Service Manager
The Technical Service Manager oversees daily service operations, schedules workload and after-hours coverage, and supports the Technical Service team. This position also provides technical assistance and training to HVAC and geothermal dealers, supports Territory Managers, and helps identify recurring issues that may impact product quality. The ideal candidate brings a strong HVAC background, leadership experience, and a customer-focused approach to problem solving.
Qualifications for Technical Service Manager
- College Degree preferred
- Minimum three (3) years prior management experience
- Must have HVAC background (geothermal experience is a plus)
- Strong people skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel)
- Be organized and able to evaluate multiple priorities
Duties & Responsibilities for Technical Service Manager
- Respond to customer technical requests completely, accurately, and as quickly as possible
- Develop, implement, and maintain procedures, processes, and documentation for the Technical Service team
- Plan and schedule the Technical Service Department’s workload to ensure efficient use of resources while meeting customer needs
- Coordinates with the Technical Service Representatives a rotation for taking after-hours service calls
- Identify, track, and report recurring issues that may indicate quality or product concerns
- Provide technical support and training to HVAC and geothermal dealers and contractors related to the sale, installation, and service of geothermal systems and other equipment lines
- Support existing dealers with sales growth, utility relationships, service needs, material requests, and warranty issues
- Assist Territory Managers in educating electric cooperative and utility personnel on geothermal systems and other emerging technologies that support company objectives
- Contribute to maintaining a library of competitor technical and product information
- Review installation and specification manuals and provide constructive feedback to the Publisher
- Maintain ongoing education and up-to-date knowledge of the heating and cooling industry and associated products
- Contribute to the improvement of training materials and training processes
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Understand, support, and comply with Management System Policies and Objectives for all ISO Management Systems (QMS, OHSMS, and EMS)
- Actively participate in the continual improvement of all ISO Management Systems (QMS, OHSMS, and EMS)
