Camflo Heating and Cooling in Flora, IN, recently teamed up with Carroll White REMC, an electric cooperative with offices in Monticello and Delphi, IN, to install a demo solar PV array to help show the cooperative members the real benefits of ‘going solar.’ Trevor Hess, Operations Manager and Home Solutions Advisor from Camflo said, “The goal of this project is to help cooperative members understand the reality of what ‘going solar’ truly means and the incentives that come with it.” Creating and maintaining relationships between installers and utility companies can not only create a smooth interconnection process for installations, but can also help create clean, dependable, and affordable electricity for its members.
Installation Details
This south-facing, ground mount array was installed at Carroll White REMC in Delphi, IN. With the help of the solar PV installer, Camflo Heating and Cooling, they were able to incorporate a 7.4 kW DC system into their building. Now, cooperative members can see expectations and the reality of savings, kilo-watt hours, energy consumption, and how they can offset utility bills. This project is a real-life case study that co-op members can see first-hand.
